In the affluent artists' colony of Fair Haven, there exists an odd little shop called Gayle's Fine Antiques and Curiosities. Its proprietor is Dorian Gayle, a beautiful and charming man who is slightly unusual but nonetheless has woven his thread into the community tapestry.

By day, Dorian sells the strange and exotic from his little shop. At night he courts the attentions of Fair Haven's women. But Dorian is not who he seems or claims to be. When the world enters the Millennium, men will come looking for him. Most are his enemies, eager to use him for their own selfish needs. Others seek to resurrect an ancient brotherhood with him at its head. And one man has come not as enemy or false friend, but as his guardian.

Too bad Dorian has no intention of doing anything he says.
